We are FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) Team #8581 Ædificatores (EYE-dee-feek-ah-TORE-race).
It is Latin for "Engineer" or "Builder"
What is FTC?
In the words of FTC's organizers: “Is FTC a robotics program? Yes, but it is so much more. FTC is about teaching students the value of hard work, innovation and creativity. It goes beyond competition by teaching teenagers the importance of working together, sharing ideas and treating each other with respect and dignity.” Three of our team members met via a FLL (FIRST LEGO League, another FIRST Robotics program) open house. Unable to find a team accepting members, we formed our own. We have participated in FLL for two seasons and we are currently in our third season of FTC. Our team members team are from Kent, Stow, and Hudson.
